SMCPS Looks to Redistrict

Process To Begin Soon

The redistricting process will begin this spring, with implementation targeted for the 2026-2027 school year. Proposals could include closing schools, altering programs offered, changing school start times, consolidating bus routes, and creating contiguous school districts. The county put out a press release a while back showing vacancies on the various boards. Please take a look and if you can volunteer to be on a board, get your resume in. 41/2 hour Calvert school board meeting last night. The 5 did a wonderful job!! It was an attack from PFlag on their typical garbage. 6 of us sat in overflow where they can hoot, holler and show total disrespect! At the end of the Calvert 5 stood strong and announced more fair restrictions to come

Letter to SOMD region's counties.

The beginning of President Donald Trump’s second term has gained significant momentum. Promises made, promises kept. But can these promises be upheld? So far, the vast majority of these commitments have been initiated through executive orders. However, future administrations can easily revoke these orders with the stroke of a pen, rendering them temporary. Open border policies could be reinstated, potentially leading to an uptick in illegal immigration, human trafficking, and dangerous drugs entering our country once again. Alternatively, they could reverse the elimination of redundant, unnecessary, and wasteful government agencies or restore federal funding to organizations that permit males to compete in female sports. So, how can “We the People” help secure these temporary gains, especially in tackling the federal government’s rampant waste, fraud, and abuse?
