I had a dream about a thief in the night. My family and I were getting ready for bed when we noticed a flashlight shimmered on the tree outside. We paused, then we saw someone climbing up the tree in the darkness. I remember thinking quickly that I need to get into action and that my wife needed to call the police. Then I woke up.

It was so vivid that I immediately looked up in the direction that I did in the dream. I looked at my phone, got out of bed, looked outside, etc. As a man, husband, and father, I was shaken, feeling the impulse to protect against an unknown invader. I’m still thinking about it now.

I wondered why I was thinking about such things, but then it dawned on me that it could have been a vision or a warning. It was 5:02 when I woke up. I was definitely not expecting a break in at that hour. Then I recalled the words of Scripture:

“Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

As believers, especially in days where it seems like prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes, we must be watchful, now more than ever before. We must guard our hearts, our conduct, and be ready for the Day of the Lord, which is fast approaching, closer than it has ever been before. Have a blessed day, brethren.
