We are a Constitutional Republic

WE ARE A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC

While the credentialed intellectual elites are consumed with “redefining” and “reimagining” democracy, Patriots across our country revere and honor our “Constitutional Republic”. The two and a half century old US Constitution defines a Constitutional Republic quite well. No imagination required. While these very same elites claim to care so much about “democracy”, in their arrogance, they vigorously avoid the use of the phrase “Constitutional Republic”.  They consistently introduce themselves using their academic credentials in an effort to impart the notion that their opinion matters more than those without such letters of higher learning. They blithely ignore that we are in fact a “Constitutional Republic”, and that the word “democracy” can’t be found in our founding documents.  Not once. These entitled doctors of various academic effluvia tell you that they are here to save democracy, because the rest of us are just intellectually incapable of even comprehending what democracy really means. So, what did the heroes of these supposed elites say about democracy?:

Karl Marx: Democracy is the road to socialism.

Vladimir Lenin: Democracy is indispensable to socialism.

Interestingly enough, Marx and Lenin uttered these phrases over a century after our founding fathers decided not to use “democracy” in our founding documents. This was no mistake or oversight. Our founding fathers were fully aware of the dangers of democracy. They were brought up on the classics. For example, they understood why true democracy failed in ancient Greece? Maybe the following quotes may shed some light onto what I am referring

Over two millennia before Marx and Lenin, Aristotle wrote:

Republics decline into democracies and democracies degenerate into despotisms.

After Marx and Lenin, Winston Churchill wrote: The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.

Now, why would Marx and Lenin favor a path to socialism that passes through democracy? Perhaps because the inherent danger of democracy is that 51% of a constituency can override 49% of that very same constituency.

In Federalist 51, James Madison wrote: If a majority be united by a common interest, the rights of a minority will be insecure.

Could this be why these over-educated intellectuals living in their preferred echo-chambers are so devoted to the word “democracy’? They claim to know the true meaning of our amazing founding documents, but won’t utter the words Constitution and Republic in the same breath. The truth of the matter is that most of these so-called elites have disdain for our founding.

Ben Franklin: A learned blockhead is a greater blockhead than an ignorant one

Unfortunately, these blockheads dominate our education system, where they “redefine” or “reimagine” for the next generation. If one doesn’t like the meaning of a word, redefine the word. Reimagining or redefining is a soft approach to changing a language in an effort to disparage or discredit what has come before.  This progressive propensity for changing practices, customs and traditions from which society has benefitted, has weakened society.  It has weakened ours. It is an attack on our way of life, which is governed by a Constitution, which outlined how our Republic was to be governed. A Constitutional Republic.

In a famous response to Elizabeth Willing Powell’s question: What have we got, a republic or a monarchy. Ben Franklin responded: A republic, if you can keep it

John Wayne: Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, talk free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words give you a feeling.  Republic is one of those words.

I like the sound of that word, too. Makes my heart warm inside.  It’s worth keeping. Truly Patriotic Americans tend to agree.  My name is Dave and I am a proud citizen of the United States of America, a Constitutional Republic.  That’s all you need to know about me.
